When I checked my notes a couple of months earlier and realised that I was to shoot at Wood Hall in Wetherby West Florida I immediately felt excitement. It had been about six years since I last photographed there and I was looking forward to spending time at such a beautiful English venue. The light dances around this old English house, rich gold frames and sweeping staircases create a playground for adventurous photographers.
Debbie, my Bride for this amazing day arrived at the venue relaxed and every bit a lady. Dave and the boys on the other hand arrived like a whirlwind, mischievous looks in their eyes. I knew this would have all of the ingredients of a fun-filled Wedding.
The temperature remained comfortable which made for a true summer feel to the photographs. Everything was to take place at the venue which makes for a relaxed day, especially for the guests who do not have to make journeys to church. This Wedding felt more like a gathering of friends and I was loving it.
Wood Hall Wedding Photography allows for the photographer to run free with ideas only brought back to heel by the time line of the wedding. It’s good that this happens otherwise I would have never brought the Bride and Groom back for their reception. Debbie & Dave received many hundreds of pictures of their Wedding day however I have included just a few to give you a flavour. For all of the photographers out there I shot this whole wedding with the stunning Fuji film XT1 and the 35mm 1.4, 16-55 2.8 and the very capable 55-200. I have used many systems over the years, Nikon, Canon as well as Fuji s2’s a million years ago and I have to say the Fuji film XT1 is causing me to leave the Canon’s in my bag. It’s a mixture of being able to see the Image through the EVF coupled with those amazing Fuji colours. This camera really gets the creative juices flowing and I am loving working with it.
